Primary Stats
In order to uncover the effects of what each of the primary stat does, I did a minor experiment whereby I stocked up a good amount of stat points first and then try to see what sort of changes it does to my secondary stats and other whatnots.
However, before I move on to that, I reckon I will need to explain how the whole stat allocation thingy works.
In the Stat Points Allocation Window, you will see your present primary stats (base), how much stat points is needed to increase that primary stat by 1, the total amount of stat points used and the leftover stat points...these sort of info.
You may then use the left/right arrow buttons to determine how much of each primary stat you wish to increase and immediately see its effects upon your character's secondary stats. If you don't like what you see, you are still able to make changes to them at this point, so long as you have not clicked on the "Confirm" button yet.
And according to a Japanese Onigiri Online Wiki, the higher your primary stat, the more amount of stat points you will need to raise it by another 1 point. (The Bonus part will not be taken into consideration for this of course.)

With that clear, let's move on to the experiment.
Leveraging upon the fact that it was easy to level without needing to use up any stat points at low levels, I proceeded to stock up a total of 36 stat points before testing out what sort of visible effects each primary stat had upon my other character stats.
And what I found out was...

However, what you will need to take note of here is that this experiment only gives you a rough idea of what each primary stat does to your character. There is no way of telling (from this experiment alone) whether the "effect per 1 stat" would increase as you pump more and more stat points into it or not. For example, whether a 1 stat increase in the 0 - 10 range gives the same effect as a 1 stat increase in the 11 - 20 range and so on and so forth...
Furthermore, this is only the visible part that we're talking about. Apparently, according to the same website (mentioned earlier), there are hidden stat effects as well.
And from what I could tell (using Google Translate on the site),
- Strength apparently also
- gives a tiny increase to attack speed
- Intelligence apparently also
- gives a tiny increase to attack speed
- gives a bonus reduction to SP consumption when using Long/Short Staff weapon skills

- Spirit apparently also
- gives a boost in power to recovery skills (Long Staff)
- affects the success rate of casting high-ranked Recovery/Support skills (Long Staff)
- Dexterity apparently also
- gives a bonus reduction to cooldown times of weapon skills
- gives a bonus increase to the attack power of critical hits
