Arma 2: Free is a free military simulation game developed by Bohemia Interactive. This simulation has an authentic and accurate representation of a battlefield. In this game, material penetration, bullet ballistics and deflection all counts towards making a kill shot.

Depending on range, where you aim and where you hit might not coincide |
The wide array of weapons and equipments available for players to use, is another aspect of the game that is worth applauding. There are about 300 or more weapons, units and armed or unarmed vehicles (fully-usable by players depending on map) provided by the game.

With this many equipment in your arsenal, it will be insane if the map is small right? And surely enough, players are given super-sized maps where there is ample space for helicopters, jets and tanks to move about in.
|
Travelling from one end to the other by foot is suicidal |
By air, a decent pilot will take a few minutes to get from one end to the other. By land, you will expect about half an hour. By foot? (Don't even think about it!)
However, because of the sheer size of the map, coordination becomes vital in playing the game. You will definitely need to depend on your team-mates if you ever get stranded at some point in the battle.

Navigation |
Getting from Point A to Point B can be difficult or made easy. It all depends on the player's choice and the options made available by the map. If the map turns off showing the position of units, then all the player has is his map and the compass. And trust me, it is definitely hell, trying to navigate yourself when that happens.
There is, of course, a way to "cheat" in that situation. All you have to do is open the map and while holding the shift key, right click anywhere on the map. A waypoint will show up on your hud when you close the map. (It even gives you the distance you are away from the waypoint.)

HALO jump |
This is definitely a good tip to use, especially if you are attempting a HALO jump. (Wouldn't want to be opening a map and checking your compass then right? Who knows, you might even forget to open your parachute!!)
